Northbourne has supplied major event catering services to the Sydney Opera House since 2012. Over this time, we have provided the liquor licence and bar management services to both ‘Sydney Opera House Presents’ events, such as Sydney NYE and Australia Day events, and for prominent third-party hirers of the Forecourt, such as Live Nation Australia. Over the past 12 years, we have managed bars and the liquor licence for shows on the Forecourt featuring major international and Australian artists. We have engaged roughly 2,750 casual bar staff servicing a variety of patrons, ages and live music preferences. Our team works efficiently and professionally, confirmed by our reappointment on 1 August 2022 to the Large Event Caterers Panel for a third 3-year term. Over this time, we have ensured compliance with all aspects of the NSW Liquor Act 2007 with zero breaches of RSA protocols.

Sydney Opera House Forecourt Series key deliverables

• Provision of an appropriate liquor licence.

• Notifications to local liquor licensing, Sydney City Council and Liquor & Gaming NSW.

• Determination of liquor licensing conditions.

• Liaising with Sydney Opera House food and beverage management.

• Liaising with site management on the hiring of equipment and infrastructure requirements.

• Holding of current wholesale trading accounts with major brewers, spirit manufacturers and wholesale liquor suppliers.

• Prompt post-event settlement with full open-book access to all event documentation.
